Neither an exciting nor a romantic tale. Yet definitely a better read than most garbage that goes under the pseudonym of paranormal romance/urban fantasy these days. But then again, the author's descriptions are boring and her writing very drab sometimes. She is unable to bring out the gravity of a dangerous situation or portray the intensity of feelings between Mercy and her love interests. Everything is sort of passive and devoid of emotions. I don't know why I'm still on to this series but I guess I still have a teensy bit of hope that things will get better.
