This book can safely be renamed 'The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Real World'
since that is what it is about. It utilizes elements of science fiction and a set of outwardly bizarre characters to poke fun at the human civilization and its many foibles. So in its truest sense, this book is satire in the guise of science fiction. Almost every sentence and dialogue is thick with wry British humour and witticisms. Regret not picking it up earlier.
